Why Water Filters

Clean water is vital for our health. Unfortunately, the sad fact is that an element so important to life itself is no longer freely given to us. Isn’t it amazing that safe drinking water is more difficult to find in an in a modern and industrially developed country such as the U.S.A. This is why we need water filters

It’s not a secret, although too many of us live as if ignoring it. And I put myself at the top of the list. the research shows that most tap and well water in our country is just not safe to drink because of the environmental as well as industrial pollution. Contaminants include man made chemicals and by-products and the chemicals used to disinfect and purify the water such as chlorine.

Many people think that using bottled water is a solution, but just how many bottles of water do you have to drag home to be able to using it for your cooking as well as drinking needs? And are you sure of what kind of water you are getting? Did you know that most plastic bottles leave a plastic residue in the water. Haven’t you tasted it?

Lets all consider that we can do everything else for our health, exercise, take supplements, yoga etc., but if you are drinking dirty water it is definitely counterproductive. Now-a-days you can find very high quality inexpensive countertop water filters such as the Aquasana. There are even pitcher filters like Brita if you will want to cut corners. But for a few more dollars you can have a very effective countertop filter.

More on Water & Whole House Water Filter

Believe it or not I didn't realize I could add more articles. I thought we had to create new hubs for each one! So I have ignored my hub because I didn't want to create a bunch of hubs on the same topic of water filters and water.

Recently, I purchased a whole house water filter from these good folks. I might have written about it in my other hubpage, can't remember now. That was a costly thing for me because I live in an old home. So if you live in a old home, and are considering buying one, be sure you check with your plumber first or if you are a guy or are married, you can do it yourself if you know a little about plumbing. I am single, so the installation costed me more than the filter because I also had to replace some pipe.

Don't get me wrong, I think these house water filters are important in this day and age. Once you realize that the chlorine and other contaminants enter your home's environment through every faucet in your home, you will think about making this investment. At the very least buy aninexpensive shower filter, assuming you already have a drinking water filter.
